AI Exclusive Card is here; WeChat completes the Agent loop.

After a period of internal testing, on June 17th, WeChat Pay officially released the “AI Exclusive Card.” According to Wallstreet.cn, it is a product feature designed specifically for AI agent payment scenarios, built into WeChat Wallet. The WeChat Pay AI Exclusive Card is currently connected to Tencent’s desktop AI agent WorkBuddy, providing it with AI payment capabilities, and will open to more intelligent agent platforms in the future. As Agent capabilities gradually improve, users can now obtain rich information and intelligent recommendations in some Agent products, but when making purchase decisions, they still need to leave the app and go to other traditional applications to make payments. This high-friction interaction experience, to a certain extent, prevents Agents from completing the closed loop of “AI shopping.” Now, although WeChat’s AI Exclusive Card embeds payment capabilities directly into the agent dialogue flow, enabling payment as a natural step in task completion within the conversation, for security reasons, the final payment of the order still requires user confirmation on their phone before it is executed. For example, on the “Expert” page of WorkBuddy, when summoning the “Meituan Life Assistant,” if you say something like “What group deals for food are nearby?” WorkBuddy will recommend a list of group deals based on location and preferences. After the user makes a selection, binds the AI Exclusive Card and adds funds, the payment is initiated by AI, confirmed on the phone, and deducted from the AI Exclusive Card. Security remains a key focus for AI payments today. It is reported that the WeChat AI Exclusive Card is completely isolated from the main WeChat Pay account. All purchases made by the bound agent can only be paid from the balance within the exclusive card. In addition, the amount transferred into the AI Exclusive Card and its usage are decided by the user themselves, and the balance can be adjusted at any time via “transfer in/out.” Within the Agent ecosystem, AI payment serves as fundamental infrastructure, especially as WorkBuddy continues to expand its capabilities from office to life services.
