Anthropic launches more than ten legal AI tools, covering everything from contract review to judicial exam preparation.

Anthropic continues to focus deeply on the legal professional market, and its series of actions has previously put pressure on software stocks. Now, it is doubling down again.
The company announced on Tuesday the launch of 12 new plugins for the legal industry, covering functions such as contract review and bar exam preparation, and revealed that Claude will integrate with widely used legal software such as DocuSign and Thomson Reuters. Anthropic’s strategic moves highlight the overall trend of AI enterprises competing for the professional services market and continue to raise concerns about the prospects of traditional software service providers.
In February this year, Anthropic launched tools with contract review and legal brief automation features, which was seen as one of the triggers for a stock market sell-off totaling up to $1 trillion at that time. Tuesday’s new release aims to capitalize on the momentum and expand its presence, positioning the legal industry as a core focus for its enterprise client strategy.
Mark Pike, Anthropic’s Deputy General Counsel, stated that after the February tool launch, lawyers’ interest in using Claude increased significantly. Currently, lawyers are the most frequent users apart from software developers.
iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (IGV) closed down 1.38% on Tuesday.

Twelve New Tools Target the Entire Legal Chain
Among the newly released tools, the "Commercial Legal Advisor" function is designed specifically for reviewing supplier agreements and other contract matters; other tools are dedicated to helping law students prepare for bar exams.
These features will be available to paid users through Claude Cowork (Anthropic’s general AI assistant for office scenarios) and can also be accessed via third-party services built on Claude.
Regarding ecosystem integration, Anthropic announced that Claude will connect with DocuSign, Thomson Reuters products, and its AI legal services competitor Harvey, further expanding its depth within legal workflows.
Strong Demand for AI in the Legal Industry, Anthropic’s Commercialization Accelerates
The legal industry, due to its large volume of document processing and concentration of repetitive tasks, is considered one of the sectors with high AI replacement potential.
Mark Pike revealed that Anthropic once held an online seminar specifically for legal professionals, introducing how to apply Claude to legal work, with over 20,000 registrations. This data indicates that the legal industry's demand for AI tools is shifting from observation to actual adoption.
In the professional services track, Anthropic and OpenAI have both increased their investments over the past year, extending their reach into high-value industries such as financial services and healthcare, aiming to attract more enterprise clients to support their high valuation expectations.
Anthropic is currently valued at $380 billion and has reportedly considered financing at a valuation of over $900 billion, with a possible IPO as early as this year. Against this backdrop, accelerating penetration into professional markets and expanding its base of paying users is critical to its commercialization path.
