Apple CEO Steve Tenus's first all-hands letter: Next week's iPhone launch will be "extraordinary".

In his first address to employees as the new leader, Apple CEO John Ternus praised the company’s strong product pipeline and teased the “extraordinary” iPhone launch event to be held next week.

The CEO, who previously served as head of hardware engineering, stated:

"We have a major announcement next week, which will be truly extraordinary."

He is excited about future plans beyond the new iPhone launch:

"Including amazing products that are currently under development, as well as products that we haven't yet imagined but will jointly conceive and create in the future."

He also thanked his predecessor, Tim Cook, for his leadership at Apple and for his help during the transition. Cook, who led Apple for 15 years, will remain as executive chairman.

Also on Tuesday, Tenus made his first post on the social platform X – “Hello,” joining Cook and marketing chief Greg Joswiak as Apple executives active on the platform.

Joswiak stated that Tenus will reveal more information at the company's launch event on September 9th. Apple is planning to launch its first foldable iPhone and is preparing to enter the smart home device market.

Apple's roadmap also includes camera-equipped AirPods, smart glasses, desktop robotic home devices, and touchscreen MacBooks.

On Monday, Cook sent his final letter to employees as CEO, in which he said he would miss the job but had full confidence in Tenus's leadership.

Team members:

Today is my first day as CEO, and I just wanted to send a short message to thank everyone for their warm well wishes. I also want to express my deepest gratitude to Tim for sharing so much knowledge and experience during this transition, and most importantly, for all his contributions to Apple over the years. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a values-driven, courteous, and humane CEO. We are all better because of him, and I am very grateful that he will be serving as our Executive Chairman.

I am incredibly honored to take on this role at what is arguably the greatest company in the world, and I am incredibly excited about everything we are preparing for. We have a major announcement next week that will be truly extraordinary. Thank you all for your hard work in making this a reality.

What excites me equally is the future, including the amazing products currently under development, and those we haven't yet imagined but will co-create and develop together. There's no better team in the world with whom I can build the future.
