ASML CEO: Musk's Terafab project may face supply chain bottlenecks

During the VivaTech technology conference held in Paris, France, ASML Holding NV CEO Christophe Fouquet stated that when serving new projects such as Musk’s Terafab, the company must ensure it does not face supply chain constraints.

According to Bloomberg, when interviewed on Wednesday and asked about new business from Terafab, Fouquet said:

“As long as supply capacity is not a bottleneck, new projects are opportunities. Therefore, we must ensure this issue is properly addressed. Terafab is a typical case of a large wafer fab project.”

Fouquet said that the demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure remains “extremely large”; he also discussed the possibility of building data centers in space in the future.

As of publication, ASML was up 6% on Wednesday, and up 30% in the past month.

ASML is the only company in the world capable of producing the most advanced lithography machines, and these devices are crucial for manufacturing cutting-edge chips used for AI training.

Earlier this month, ASML announced it would participate in Musk’s ambitious Terafab project. The project aims to build enough semiconductor production capacity to meet the chip needs of all Musk’s companies.
