At a critical moment in the US-Iran negotiations, Trump spoke with Netanyahu and planned to hold a cabinet meeting at Camp David.
On May 26 local time, U.S. President Trump spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
A knowledgeable source said that as regional tensions rise and U.S.-Iran diplomatic negotiations enter a critical stage, both sides communicated about the situation.
Central Television Reporter learned on the 26th local time that, as the U.S. enters a crucial moment in negotiations with Iran, President Trump will unusually hold a full cabinet meeting at the presidential retreat, Camp David, in Maryland on the 27th.
Reportedly, this is Trump’s first cabinet meeting since March 26. A White House official said all cabinet members will attend, including outgoing Director of National Intelligence Gabbard.
The official stated that the meeting will discuss “the administration’s recent achievements, including victories in the economy and small business sectors, achievements by the anti-fraud task force, and the latest progress in foreign policy.” However, it has been revealed that the U.S.-Iran agreement may be the main topic of the meeting.
It is also understood that due to severe weather, the meeting location may change. Trump normally travels to Camp David by helicopter, but heavy rainfall in the Washington, D.C. area recently may force the cancellation of this trip.
Public reports indicate that since Trump began his second term in January 2025, he has only visited Camp David once, which was just a few days before the U.S. bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities in June of the same year.
