On February 13, U.S. Treasury Secretary Besente made remarks on the CNBC program.

Besente mentioned Fed nominee Walsh, stating that the Senate Banking Committee is also investigating related projects of the Federal Reserve. Advancing the Senate hearing is very important.

"We believe an agreement has been reached regarding the hearing. Anyone who cares about the Fed hopes to see policy continuity."

He pointed out, "The bond market is so calm because we are tightening up fiscal policy. There is a strong possibility that GDP growth will reach 3% in 2025. Inflation may return to around 2% by mid-2026."

Besente addressed employment issues, saying this is part of Trump’s plan to return to a privatized economy. Regarding the U.S. deficit, he said he trusts the market more than the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) forecasts.

He said he had just spoken with U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer, and added, "We’ll see whether tariffs will be ‘narrowed’." He also stated that any final decision will be made by the President.
