Can't keep AI Nobel laureates! Google drops 6%, marking its biggest decline since February

Alphabet's intraday drop on Monday once exceeded 6%, marking its largest intraday decline since early February and dragging down other stocks among the "Magnificent Seven" tech giants.

Last weekend, the company lost its second renowned AI researcher. Google DeepMind Vice President John Jumper announced his departure on Friday to join Anthropic. Jumper received the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his contributions to the AI field.

Last week, Noam Shazeer, one of Google's most prominent researchers, also announced his departure to join competitor OpenAI. He helped co-author a groundbreaking paper that played a key role in fueling the AI boom.
