E Fund Quality Enterprises Fund Announcement: Zhang Kun steps down as fund manager

On the early morning of September 30th, E Fund Management Co., Ltd. issued an announcement stating that the fund manager of its E Fund Quality Enterprises Three-Year Holding Period Hybrid Securities Investment Fund had changed:

Zhang Kun has officially stepped down as the fund manager, and the fund will subsequently be managed solely by Zhang Qi.

Previously, on June 27, the fund announced the appointment of Zhang Qi as a co-management fund manager. After this adjustment, Zhang Qi will manage the fund alone.

Who is Zhang Qi?

According to available information, Zhang Qi holds a doctorate in engineering. He joined E Fund Management Co., Ltd. in July 2017, where he served as an investment manager and industry researcher. He became a fund manager in April 2022.

Zhang Qi's investments focus on technological change and social transformation. He prefers to observe industries from a holistic perspective and selects growth companies using a top-down approach. Since taking office, the returns of many of the funds he manages have exceeded their benchmark performance.

According to industry insiders, Zhang Qi is a key equity investment talent cultivated within E Fund Management, with a style leaning towards fundamental research-driven investment. His independent leadership of E Fund's high-quality companies investment team for three years is seen as a well-organized arrangement for E Fund's talent pipeline development and style inheritance.

Zhang Kun is still

The relevant announcement also indicated that after this change in fund manager, Zhang Kun will continue to serve as Senior Managing Director and member of the Equity Investment Decision Committee of E Fund Management Co., Ltd., and the other funds he manages will remain unchanged.

Currently, Zhang Kun manages three funds: E Fund Blue Chip Selection Hybrid, E Fund Asia Selection Stock, and E Fund Quality Selection Hybrid (QDII).

Among them, E Fund Blue Chip Selection is managed by Zhang Kun, Yang Siliang, and He Yicheng; E Fund Quality Selection Hybrid (QDII) is jointly managed by Zhang Kun and Peng Ke, while Zhang Kun manages E Fund Asia Selection Equity Fund alone.

In recent years, many top mutual fund managers have proactively reduced their assets under management and focused on core products. Previously, it was reported that adjusting Zhang Kun's fund management model was also to facilitate his proactive reduction and focus of management energy; this adjustment is likely a continuation of that approach.
