A new player enters the humanoid robot track.

Recently, according to sources from All-weather Technology, Honor will release its first humanoid robot focused on the consumer market at the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC).

This also marks Honor as the world’s first mainstream mobile phone company to officially enter the humanoid robot track.

In fact, Honor has long had ambitions to explore the robotics track.

In October 2025, at the launch event for the Magic8 series, Honor showcased a phone similar to a Pocket camera and named it “Robot Phone,” demonstrating Honor’s vision for cross-device intelligent connectivity.

Compared to the industrial level, industry insiders see the consumer-grade humanoid robot market as currently the most likely to achieve commercial success.

“Modern factories are already highly automated. The current costs of humanoid robots are still difficult to compete with these factories’ automated equipment,” a head of a Beijing humanoid robot company told All-weather Technology.

As a result, the consumer market has become a battleground for competition.

Songyan Power, Yinhe General, Unitree Technology, and Magic Atom Robot Company have all sponsored the 2026 Year of the Horse Spring Festival Gala, reflecting their intention to tap into the consumer market. For example, Songyan Power launched the “Xiao Bumi” robot targeted at the consumer market, priced in the ten-thousand-yuan range, mainly to match the consumer-level customers’ purchasing power.

Compared to robot startups that need to build user awareness from scratch, Honor possesses a vast, highly loyal global user base, a mature supply chain system, and a worldwide retail network. Especially Honor’s strong brand power accumulated in the consumer market can provide it with a natural moat.

However, how Honor’s humanoid robot will achieve better synergy with its mobile phone business, and how it will uncover genuine “rigid demand” scenarios in the consumer market, remain to be further observed.
