On June 6 local time, Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that Iran would declare a "no-go zone" in the Strait of Hormuz region in the coming days. He indicated that this "no-go zone" would extend from the US naval blockade line into parts of the Persian Gulf.

Rezaei stated that any vessel entering this "restricted area" would be added to Iran's sanctions list. Iran can monitor American vessels and could sink them. "Of course, Iran hasn't sunk American vessels because they are carrying oil, and sinking them would damage the environment."

Iran says it will soon sign an agreement with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Regarding the Iran-US negotiations, Rezaei pointed out that the US must win Iran's trust in order to continue talks. He also emphasized that the US claim that the Strait of Hormuz is open is "pure lies."

Rezaei also announced that the agreement reached between Iran and Oman on a charter for ship passage in the Strait of Hormuz "will be signed in the coming days."
