According to CCTV citing the statement, Lebanese Ambassador to the U.S. Nada Hamad Mouawad and Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yehiel Leite had a phone conversation on the evening of the 10th, with the U.S. Ambassador to Beirut also participating.
The statement pointed out that this call is part of diplomatic efforts to facilitate a ceasefire and initiate negotiations, and added that both sides have agreed to hold their first meeting at the U.S. State Department on April 14th to discuss announcing a ceasefire and the date for starting negotiations under U.S. auspices.
