Poland's central bank's gold reserves increased to 648 tons, and spot gold rose by more than $10 in 5 minutes.
On September 10, according to Bloomberg, Polish central bank governor Adam Grapinski said at a press conference in Warsaw that the central bank's gold reserves had increased to 648 tons by the end of August, and reiterated the plan to further increase the gold reserves to 700 tons.
Grapinski stated that the unrealized profits from current gold reserves have reached 160 billion złoty. He believes that increasing gold reserves will help stabilize the złoty exchange rate and enhance the credibility of the Polish economy.
Spot gold surged $10.42 per ounce within five minutes to $4,348.7 per ounce, narrowing its intraday decline to 1.2%.
