On the evening of July 8, ByteDance's Seed team officially released the multimodal image creation model Seedream 5.0 Pro.

Compared to previous versions, Seedream 5.0 Pro has further upgraded its basic capabilities such as image-text matching, structural rationality, text rendering, and visual aesthetics. Its core breakthroughs focus on visualizing complex information, interactive precise editing, realistic imagery and portrait texture, as well as multilingual input and generation.

In terms of pricing, the Seedream 5.0 Pro API charges based on input and output images: For output images not exceeding 2.36 million pixels, the first input image is free, subsequent input images cost 0.02 RMB each, and output images 0.3 RMB each; for output images exceeding 2.36 million pixels, the first input image is free, subsequent input images cost 0.02 RMB each, and output images 0.6 RMB each.

Compared to the previous generation model, Seedream 5.0 Pro shows its most intuitive upgrade in the stability of Chinese text rendering.

For complex creative scenarios such as long commercial logic prompt words and magazine-style infographics, this model can precisely meet structured creative needs, outputting images with unified style and moderate information density, thoroughly addressing traditional AI-generated image pain points like text disorder, blurred strokes, and distorted layouts.

From the actual results, the new version can already achieve "industry concept visualization," accurately restoring the visual expression of abstract business keywords like multi-party competition, cost pressure, and industry selection.

However, the model still has capability boundaries. At this stage, it excels at executing specified style and keyword instructions, but still has limitations in understanding progressive industry logic chains, making it difficult to automatically and completely present the deep causal relationships of "multi-party competition—category expansion—supply chain price increase—player differentiation—industry convergence." Fine-tuned prompts are still needed to refine image logic.

To address long-standing pain points in the AI image generation industry, Seedream 5.0 Pro has added interactive local editing capabilities, for the first time enabling a full process of "one-click generation + instant revisions."

Previously, AI creation commonly suffered from the limitation of "one-time generation, no local edits," so any image flaws or detail deviations could only be resolved by regenerating or exporting to third-party software for further editing—a cumbersome and inefficient process.

With the new model’s native editing features, users can directly perform local erasing, element replacement, detail cut-out, and pinpoint corrections on the generated images, without repeatedly tweaking prompts or redrawing. This greatly reduces the trial-and-error cost for creating quality images and establishes a new closed loop for iterative AI image creation.
