Surviving the Middle East conflict, Weride’s Robotaxi in Dubai resumes operations.
```
On March 6, according to All Weather Technology's information from WeRide, its Dubai Robotaxi fleet has fully resumed operations.
Previously, due to tensions in the Middle East, this service was forced to pause on March 1.
This is not an isolated case. Previously, to ensure the safety of tests, Baidu Apollo Go suspended operations within the UAE, though its services in the Abu Dhabi area remained normal; Pony.ai first halted its road testing in Dubai and Doha, and after assessment, resumed its testing in Doha on March 2.
Specifically, after several days of positive responses and coordination, users in the Dubai Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah areas can now normally hail WeRide's Robotaxi via Uber.
This unexpected "stress test" has also provided a real-life reference sample for technology companies seeking opportunities in the Middle East.
People close to WeRide told All Weather Technology that contingency plans for emergency supplies and personnel safety had already been established and were implemented during this incident.
With the resumption of the Dubai Robotaxi fleet, WeRide plans to continue cooperating with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority and officially launch fully driverless commercial Robotaxi operations within this month.
This also marks WeRide's Robotaxi commercialization in the Middle East entering deeper waters.
But on the flip side, the Middle East market—hailed by Chinese technology companies as a "hotspot for opportunities"—is revealing its extremely complex and fragile nature.
For WeRide and all tech companies expanding into the Middle East, although the suspension was brief, it was nonetheless a true risk education in a real-world environment.
In the past, "localization" for overseas businesses often focused on obtaining licenses and regulatory approvals. But now, as geopolitics has become a direct variable that may cut off business flows at any moment, how to build a resilient risk management system amid uncertainties at the edge of conflict has become a must-answer question for every company.
