Tesla plans to expand its Texas Gigafactory to produce 10 million Optimus humanoid robots annually!

November 11—According to Tesla-focused media outlet Teslarati, Tesla plans a new round of expansion at its Texas Gigafactory, intending to build a new production base dedicated to its Optimus humanoid robot. The planned annual production capacity of this base is 10 million units, with operations expected to begin in 2027. Drone operator Joe Tegtmeyer posted on social media that he observed Tesla construction teams carrying out ground leveling and cleaning work within the factory area, preparing for subsequent construction. This expansion project marks a key step for Tesla in the field of humanoid robots. Currently, Tesla has a production line at its Fremont, California factory with an annual capacity of about 1 million units. In comparison, the planned capacity of the new Texas facility will be ten times greater, reflecting Tesla’s strong confidence in scaling up the Optimus project. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly emphasized the strategic significance of the Optimus project, stating that it could become “the greatest product in Earth’s history” and completely change the way humans carry out tasks, helping liberate people from repetitive labor. In earlier remarks, Musk expressed an even greater vision for production. He mentioned: “In the future, there may be tens of billions of Optimus robots in use. Of course, safety is an issue we must pay close attention to. If we build a production line with an annual capacity of 10 million units, then where should we set up a line with an annual capacity of 100 million units? Maybe on Mars.” Risk Warning and Disclaimer The market has risks, and investment needs to be cautious.
