The channel agreement for cross-border communication will be renewed starting today.

The settlement of contracts and comprehensive service fees with channel partners has begun to switch according to the new division of labor.

A letter from Wenjie to all channel partners obtained by Wall Street Insights shows that, starting from September 16, the signatory of the "Authorized Distributor Partner Comprehensive Service Cooperation Agreement" has been changed from Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd. to an affiliated company of Seres Automotive Co., Ltd., and the previous agreement has been automatically terminated.

Seres confirmed the authenticity of the letter on September 16.

This letter was signed by the "Ceres & Huawei Terminal World Sales and Service Joint Working Group". Both parties stated that the purpose of this exchange of agreements was to ensure the continued stable and efficient operation of the business, and divided the handover responsibilities based on the order initiation time.

Specifically, for orders placed before September 16, including those yet to be delivered, Huawei will still be responsible for the settlement of comprehensive service fees; for new orders placed on or after September 16, Seres will be responsible for the settlement of comprehensive service fees.

Regarding the business continuity issue that dealers are concerned about, the letter clarifies that the channel authorization model, business rules, operating standards and norms will remain unchanged.

On September 15th, HarmonyOS announced that Seres will lead the product definition, product design, brand marketing, channel retail, and service system of its "Wenjie" platform, with Huawei Terminal providing support. Wenjie remains within the HarmonyOS cooperation framework. With the signing of the new channel agreement, Seres has begun to assume corresponding operational responsibilities through direct contractual relationships.

The letter also outlined a more concrete direction for the subsequent operation of the stores. It stated that the Wenjie brand would be further "exclusively franchised." Sources familiar with the matter told Wall Street Insights that, in addition to directly operated stores and franchised stores, some of the original HarmonyOS intelligent driving stores will also be transferred to Seres, solely for displaying and selling Wenjie models.

In its 2026 interim report, Seres disclosed that the company is renovating its stores in terms of space, materials, and lighting, and has also launched a service for vehicle delivery where customers can inspect the car at the factory and pick it up after confirming their satisfaction. Wenjie's high-end services already involve specific stores and delivery processes, and this change in the cooperation entity needs to maintain consistency with these existing operations.

From a store operation perspective, exclusive dealerships allow for the concentration of display space, sales training, and customer follow-up on the Jetta model. By simultaneously leading product, marketing, and distribution channels, Seres can coordinate new car promotions, store activities, and sales feedback, providing a more direct response to the issues dealers encounter in selling vehicles.

This also requires brands to implement service standards at specific stores, so that consumers can have a consistent experience throughout the process of viewing, purchasing, and using a car.

The letter stated that, for existing users, both parties promised that the brand image and positioning, as well as the service standards for users, would remain unchanged, and the existing rights and interests of all users of Wenjie would remain unchanged.
