On Friday local time, according to Politico, Kevin Warsh, who was nominated by U.S. President Trump as the candidate for Chairman of the Federal Reserve, will attend the nomination hearing at the U.S. Senate Banking Committee on April 16.

Media reports state that the U.S. Treasury Department has made confirming Warsh's appointment a top priority. Derek Theurer, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Affairs, who is in charge of Warsh's nomination, has devoted himself fully to this nomination process.

Since Trump returned to the White House, he has consistently expressed dissatisfaction with the current Fed Chair Jerome Powell. In January this year, he nominated Warsh to replace Powell.

However, on the same day, a U.S. judge rejected the Trump administration's request to reinstate the subpoena against Powell. Nick Timiraos, a well-known financial journalist dubbed the "new Fed news agency," said the ruling paved the way for Pirro to appeal to a higher court. But the appeal could delay the Senate confirmation of Warsh for Fed Chair.

Powell’s term as Fed Chair is set to expire next month. However, in March, Powell stated that if Warsh is not confirmed by the time Powell’s term ends in May, he will continue serving as Fed Chair, in accordance with legal requirements.
