The US military action against Iran has cost $43.6 billion, excluding losses of bases in the Middle East.

According to Bloomberg, the Pentagon has informed Congress that the United States has spent $43.6 billion on military operations against Iran to date.

According to assessments provided to members of Congress by the U.S. Central Command, as of September 3, 2026, the Pentagon had allocated approximately $11.2 billion for the additional costs incurred in this military operation, an estimated $28.1 billion for replacing consumed munitions, and approximately $4.3 billion for replenishing lost equipment.

As subsequent assessments are completed, the costs associated with equipment losses will be adjusted.

The cost estimate submitted by the military to lawmakers does not yet include the hundreds of billions of dollars in potential losses to U.S. bases in the Middle East caused by Iranian attacks .

Central Command estimates that replacing used ammunition will cost approximately $28 billion, funds which have not yet been allocated. In addition, $4.3 billion needed to replenish lost equipment has also not yet been funded.

The expense breakdown provided by the military shows:

• Army : Approximately $1.6 billion was spent on "combat readiness and basic living support for deployed personnel";
• Navy : It took on a higher bill of $2.2 billion for "combat forces, ships and flight missions";
• Air Force : The bill is $6.6 billion for "deployment personnel support, airlift, base and communications support, and transportation".
