The U.S. Central Command stated that this round of operations was carried out under President Trump's orders, aiming to further weaken Iran's military capabilities.

The Iranian military released a statement on the 17th local time, saying that the Iranian navy used shore-based cruise missiles to strike a U.S. warship located in the northern Indian Ocean. The vessel was forced to leave Iran's attack range. So far, the U.S. has not responded to this incident.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement in the early hours of the 18th local time, saying the IRGC attacked and destroyed the U.S. drone storage base in Bahrain, with a large number of drones burnt by fire. In addition, Bahrain’s main artificial intelligence center was also hit by several ballistic missiles and dozens of drones and has been completely destroyed. The statement said the U.S. must know that if it attacks Iran’s bridges and transportation infrastructure, then Iran will henceforth strike the most important industrial, information technology, and artificial intelligence assets of American enterprises in the region, and will flatten the most expensive assets of American companies in countries hosting U.S. military bases. On the 17th local time, Iran’s Supreme Leader military adviser Mohsen Rezaee stated that the U.S. had violated the provisions of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, and now this memorandum is essentially void.

Rezaee said that Israel had not withdrawn from southern Lebanon; the U.S. had opened illegal navigation channels in the Hormuz Strait despite the legal navigation channel on the Iranian side being open; it has not respected Iran’s sovereignty and has launched military attacks on Iran’s coastal areas; and the U.S. has not unfrozen Iran's frozen assets—these are concrete manifestations of the U.S. violating the memorandum.

If the U.S. continues its attacks, the Iranian military will enter the “full offensive” phase

Rezaee further stated that the U.S. military is launching large-scale attacks on southern Iran's infrastructure through a type of hybrid warfare. With renewed U.S. strikes, Iran has expanded the scope of the war according to previous warnings.

Rezaee said that if the U.S. continues attacks in the next few days, Iran’s armed forces will move beyond the current “deterrence and retaliation” phase into a “full offensive and destruction” phase. At that point, U.S. bases and soldiers outside U.S. territory will become direct targets. The U.S. should know that its strategy of “fighting while talking” has reached an impasse. In the coming days, Iran’s attacks will be even more fierce.
