Trump postponed the strike on Iranian energy facilities by ten days, extending the deadline to April 6.
US President Trump announced another delay in striking Iran’s energy facilities, apparently to allow more room for US-Iran negotiations.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Trump posted on social media on Thursday the 26th, stating that the airstrike on Iran’s energy facilities would be postponed for another 10 days, until 8 p.m. Eastern Time on April 6. According to CCTV, Trump posted the following on his “Truth Social” platform:
“At the request of the Iranian government, I hereby state: I will postpone the strike on (Iran’s) energy facilities for another 10 days, until 8 p.m. Eastern Time on April 6, 2026.”
Trump also stated: “Negotiations (with Iran) are ongoing. Although the fake news media and other sources have published incorrect and opposing claims, the negotiations are going very smoothly.”
