US initial jobless claims fell to 191,000 last week, significantly below previous and expected figures.

According to data released by the U.S. Department of Labor on Thursday, the number of initial jobless claims for the week ending November 29 was 191,000, compared to the expected 220,000 and the previous value of 216,000.

After the data was released, the U.S. Dollar Index jumped about 10 points in the short term and is now at 98.94.
