With net interest margin continuing to rise, China Construction Bank's net profit increased by 5.56% in the first half of the year.

In the first half of the year, the Group achieved operating revenue of RMB 426.333 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.48% (International Financial Reporting Standards, Group caliber, unaudited); net profit of RMB 171.677 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.56% ; and net profit attributable to the Bank's shareholders of RMB 169.564 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.62% .
In terms of revenue structure, CCB's net interest income in the first half of the year was RMB 310.958 billion, an increase of RMB 24.249 billion or 8.46% compared with the same period last year , accounting for 72.94% of operating income ;
Non-interest net income was RMB115.375 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 16.31% .
Of these, net fee and commission income was RMB 64.289 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.42% ; net income from investment securities and gains from the derecognition of financial assets measured at amortized cost increased, driving other non-interest net income to RMB 51.086 billion, a year-on-year increase of 50.35% .
In terms of indicators reflecting profitability and cost control, CCB's net interest margin was 1.37% in the first half of the year , up 3 and 1 basis points from the full year of last year and the first quarter of this year, respectively, continuing its trend of stabilization and recovery.
The annualized average return on assets is 0.74% , and the annualized weighted average return on net assets is 9.52% .
In addition, the bank continued to strengthen cost management, with a cost-to-income ratio of 22.17% in the first half of the year , a decrease of 1.55 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
In terms of asset and liability scale and credit structure, as of the end of June , CCB's total assets reached RMB 47.33 trillion, an increase of 3.72% compared with the end of last year ; total loans and advances amounted to RMB 29.34 trillion, an increase of 5.65% .
Of these, corporate loans totaled RMB17.60 trillion, up 6.86% from the end of last year ; personal loans totaled RMB9.19 trillion, with personal consumption loans up 14.59% and personal housing loans down 2.23% from the end of last year .
In terms of key areas of investment, loans to the manufacturing sector grew by 17.95% , while loans to private enterprises increased by 9.42% .
Regarding asset quality and capital adequacy, at the end of the reporting period, CCB's non-performing loan ratio was 1.29% , a decrease of 0.02 percentage points from the end of the previous year; the provision coverage ratio was 238.69% , an increase of 5.54 percentage points from the end of the previous year ; and the capital adequacy ratio and core tier 1 capital adequacy ratio were 19.42% and 14.24% , respectively .
